The Poverty Studies Review is an academic journal established by the British University. It is an interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing the understanding of poverty and inequality on a global scale.

The journal focuses on an interdisciplinary field that integrates insights from economics, political science, sociology, and international relations. Its primary aim is to advance scientific understanding of social, economic, and political processes, addressing key questions of what constitutes development and how it can be effectively achieved.

We Invite

scholars, policymakers, and practitioners to submit high-quality original research that explores the root causes, consequences, and potential solutions to poverty from a wide range of disciplines:

  4. Global and Regional Perspectives: Analytical perspectives on poverty, ranging from global frameworks to in-depth case studies of specific regions or countries.

  5. Health: Investigations into how poverty influences health outcomes, access to healthcare, and social determinants of health.

  6. Education: Exploration of education’s role in alleviating poverty and how poverty impacts educational opportunities.

  7. Technological Innovations and Poverty Reduction: The role of technological advancements—such as digital inclusion, fintech, and agricultural technologies—in combating poverty.

Sustainable Development and Climate Change: Emphasizing the interplay between sustainability and poverty, this theme addresses environmental challenges, effective resource management, and societal resilience. It also explores the impacts of climate change and environmental degradation on vulnerable communities, focusing on their adaptive capacities and strategies for sustainable poverty reduction.
